Ladue News, St Louis, Missouri

One of MADE IN THE DEEP SOUTH fanatics, Katie Yeadon writes:

"Funny ‘small world’ story: While I was in Seaside, Fla., over the holidays perusing the local shops, I stopped at an armoire showcasing the funkiest jeweled leather cuffs. I snapped a picture with my iPhone so I would remember to research them for my column. Lo and behold, three weeks later, I’m at Giddy Up Jane pulling a few things for this page when I look down and see the same cuffs! Owner Jane proceeds to explain to me the story of the cuffs (all vintage one-of-a-kind pieces collected from all over the world, and mixed with other pieces and materials to make each unique leather cuff), and that the designer used to live here in St. Louis. Needless to say, I’m a fan of these treasures that mix old and new. And I love that no two are alike. Best of all? You are supporting (two!) local boutiques carrying an (ex-local) designer."

Dejavu blog-

"We are so excited to introduce a new line we have picked up called MADE. Michela Swafford is an amazing artist creating these one-of-a-kind leather cuffs. Each cuff has a unique story to tell & you won't find one just like the another one.

Each leather bracelet is created from genuine hand cut leather. Michela uses vintage brooches & hand cut steel to create the focus points of her cuffs. These vintage pieces come from all of the world with their own unique story & history. These brooches are hand sewn onto the leather & sealed with a cloth "MADE" tag. With two snaps so the cuff will fit you perfectly, you will really fall head-over-heels in love with your very own one-of-a-kind MADE cuff.

Michela stopped by the DeJaVu headquarters & let us go shopping for ourselves & for the DeJaVu stores. We are especially excited to launch our own MADE collection at shopDeJaVu.com!"
